Alexandra, who is a seventh-term psychology student and who studies in a hybrid system studying one day a week. Under normal conditions, her family could continue supporting her study, but since her mother suffers kidney failure (she is a patient at the Isla Diabetics Clinic) she is receiving hemodialysis twice a week and had to leave her job since she does not have the energy to continue working. I see in the mother's words a cry for help to avoid that her daughter stops studying because she cannot pay for her studies. Alexandra is single parenting her 5 year old son. Kalvin‘s passion is dancing. He has been encouraged by his fellow dancers and his teachers to study dance so that he can eventually become a choreographer or dance instructor. Kalvin will begin studying in August at Instituto Campechano - Bachelor of Art Education majoring in dance. Eli, one of our scholarship students is spending a month in Canada attending a university English course. This is something he has wanted to do for quite some time.
