Eli goes to Canada

​Eli, one of our scholarship students is spending a month in Canada attending a university English course. This is something he has wanted to do for quite some time. His sponsors Robyn and Carl are hosting Eli in their home in Ottawa. Eli is making life long memories and experiencing so many new things. Our students become part of our families as evidenced in Eli’s journey. I can’t wait to see all of Eli’s photos and hear more about his adventures in Canada.

From Robyn “A quick update on Eli. It’s going better than we ever could have imagined. He is embracing every opportunity available, from joining local ‘Meet Up’ groups, to making friends in the neighborhood. He has been to a professional soccer game, enjoyed a big music festival, kayaked on the lake near our house, visited several museums, biked all over the city, and practiced English in every situation imaginable. He has really been putting himself out there and it has been wonderful to watch. He’s very excited to see Pitbull in concert tonight. We have been able to get him free entrance to things all over the city, including the sold out show tonight. It takes a village!!!!”
