Monday morning several sponsors of The Brothers Cleyder and Miguel met with them and their Mother for breakfast at Lola Valentina. It was great to see the Brothers and interact with fellow sponsors. Two brand new sponsors were in attendance. We had a very nice visit and I encourage all sponsors to try to meet with their scholarship students.
One of our students, Mike is attending an English immersion program in Canada. Mike posted today “Hello, i am en Canada ,
my friends from other countries(Mexico, Brasil, Japon, Corea, Grecia, Colombia) . thanks for everything It is a unique experience.”
What a shock to travel from warm, sun Isla Mujeres to cold, snowy Toronto. ⛄️
Mike graduates today from this English language immersion program. Way to go Mike!
March 18, 2018 - We had breakfast this morning with Yuseli, who is one of the Isla Mujeres Scholarship students that I sponsor. We had a brand new laptop to give to her that was donated by Keys4Life. Yuseli was delighted to receive a new laptop as her used one had recently died.
Thank you Robb Sals, Ken Wanovich and Keys4Life for the generous donation and your support of the Isla Mujeres Scholarship Program and the program’s students!
Sunday Maggie and Tom hosted the annual Isla Mujeres Scholarship Program student sponsor get together. There were current scholarship students and alumni who attended. Many with other family members. The Moms provide enough food to feed an Army!
Each student and their sponsors spoke. It was heartwarming to hear the students tell how this program has enriched and changed their lives. The bonds between all these people is inspirational. Kids who were never going to be able to attend university are becoming dentists, physical therapists, nurses, lawyers, teachers, architects.
Please consider becoming a sponsor of these great kids!
There may have been some tears, definitely many smiles and a great time was had by all.
The Isla Mujeres Scholarship Program online auction event is now open for bidding. The Sirena Soirée Online Auction will run through March 4th.
